The Fair Acres Family YMCA, in cooperation with the Carthage R-9 School District, is again offering a fun and safe place for elementary students after school.

Fair Acres Family YMCA’s “Kidz-in-Motion” is a state-licensed program designed to provide a safe, caring and fun place for your child after school each day. All students, kindergarten through 6th grade, are eligible to attend.  Membership in the YMCA is not required.

Kidz-in-Motion runs each day school is in session, from school dismissal time until 6:00 p.m. The program is also available, at no extra charge, on days school dismisses early, but it will not run on days there is no school in session. Students who attend Steadley Elementary will have Kidz-in-Motion at their school. All other students will be transported daily to Steadley.

Kidz-in-Motion gives students the opportunity to experience a variety of exciting enrichment and recreational activities as a daily part of their after-school schedule. Activities at each site will vary somewhat due to the needs of students. However, overall programming will be the same, offering a safe, enriching, and exciting place for children in the after-school hours. Snacks are provided each day.

All Kidz-in-Motion staff are required to complete a criminal record check and a child abuse/neglect screening through the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry. CPR/First Aid training and continuing education credits are required for all staff members.

To enroll in the Kidz-in-Motion program, please contact the YMCA at 358-1070.
