2. Come by the Front Desk. Tours are available so you can see exactly what we have to offer before you join.
3. Pick up your Membership Card and Get Started! Once your membership has been processed, you have full access to our facilities and member benefits.

Nationwide Membership enables you to visit any participating Y in the United States through membership at your “home” YMCA (your home location is the facility that enrolled you as a member and that collects your membership dues).

We offer this because we want to help you reach your health and wellness goals wherever you live, work or travel. This is an essential part of our cause of strengthening communities. 

What You Need to Know

• Valid for active, full facility YMCA members
• Nationwide member visitors must use their home Y at least 50% of the time
• Program-only participants and special memberships are not eligible for Nationwide Membership

Your Nationwide YMCA Membership is accepted at this facility and the following policies apply:

• A membership card from your home YMCA must be presented to the Fair Acres Family YMCA facility. Our YMCA staff will not contact the home YMCA to verify membership for those without their card.
• Nationwide YMCA visitors may NOT bring a guest.
• Nationwide YMCA visitors may use the “Drop-off” babysitting service for a charge of $3.00 per hour per child. The fee must be paid at the Service Desk before bringing the child to the “Drop-off” room. A receipt obtained from the Service Desk must be presented to the “Drop-off” staff before leaving the child.
• All class or program participation will be charged at the community member rate. Aquacise and aerobic classes are free only for Fair Acres Y members.
• Nationwide YMCA visitors may not reserve the racquetball courts. However, they may use them if they are not currently in use.
• The Fitness Center may not be used by Nationwide YMCA visitors under the age of 14.
• Member appreciation events are the privilege of the Fair Acres Family Y Members.
• All Nationwide YMCA visitors will be responsible for following established Fair Acres Family YMCA policies and guidelines

Memberships are recognized at YMCA's all over the country. We have seven membership categories:

Household: Includes the primary, their spouse, and their dependents 18 and younger.
Household +1: Includes the primary, their spouse, their dependents 18 and younger. Plus one additional household resident above the age of 18, proof of residency required.

Many companies subsidize a percentage of YMCA membership dues for their employees. Contact your Human Resources Department or call the Y to find out if your company participates!  We have Corporate Discount plans with many companies in the area. Ask us!

As a not-for-profit organization (501(c)3), the YMCA tries to structure its rates to be affordable to all. However, in the event that an individual or family has financial need, financial assistance is available.  

Annual and Semi-annual payment is also available. To join, pay the annual fee plus the joining fee. Initial payment or annual payment for membership may be made by cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover. The YMCA has no yearly contracts. Monthly payment is available through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) or credit card: Visa, MasterCard, or Discover. Withdrawals or charges are made from accounts on the 15th day of each month.

PAYMENT PLANS & POLICIES

• Monthly Draft is an automatic charge to a checking or savings account, or credit card of member’s choice.
• Semi-annual & Annual plans must be paid in full with joiner’s fee up front.
• Joiner’s Fee is a one-time charge as long as the membership is current.
• Membership Cancellation requires a full 30 day written notice prior to the 15th of the month. Cancellations less than 30 days will result in one additional draft. All outstanding debt owed must be payed at time of termination. Termination forms are available at the Fair Acres Family YMCA Front Desk, and must be turned in to the Front Desk for proper member identification. Terminations will not be accepted by email or phone.

It is the policy of the Fair Acres Family YMCA to provide services for any person who desires to participate and understands the benefits of the YMCA, regardless of their ability to pay the standard membership or program fees.

Please complete the Financial Scholarship application form entirely.  If any pieces of information are missing, the application will not be processed.

You must include 2 pieces of income verification. We will accept the following:

1. Two of your latest paycheck stubs
2. Tax information (i.e. W2)
3. Assistance statements if you receive Social Security, disability, food stamps, AFDC, child support, etc.
4. If supported by another person, we may ask for a letter detailing the amount of support from that person. We may also ask for that person’s information.

If you are applying for Family membership, you may include your spouse and your children under the age of 23. If you have children over which you have guardianship or custody that are not your children, please provide us with verification of that guardianship or custody.

Please allow 10-14 business days for the application to be processed. During busier winter months, it may take up to four weeks due to the volume of applications received.

The application is figured based on household income and the number of people in the household. These figures are plugged into a sliding scale based on current figures of the Federal Poverty Index.

The Fair Acres Family YMCA believes that ownership and pride are best developed when recipients of financial assistance contribute to the cost of their YMCA involvement. Thus, all eligible recipients will be asked to pay a portion of the membership/program fees.

Scholarship assistance offer must be accepted within 30 days of notification. If you choose to continue your membership beyond the initial scholarship awarded, which is valid for 1 year, you must reapply. We will mail an application to your home about one month before your yearly scholarship/membership expiration date. You will need to submit income verification again to reapply.

Memberships in YMCA health and fitness programs are designed to meet different peoples\' needs of cardiovascular health, strength training, weight loss, stress reduction and education, while meeting the expectations of the highest quality and value. The Fair Acres Family YMCA serves people and families of all ages, income levels, and physical condition with emphasis on responsibility and self-improvement.

III. Policy of Nondiscrimination

It is the policy of the YMCA to make membership available to all persons, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or financial circumstances without discrimination.

IV. Membership Privileges and Conditions

YMCA policy outlined within this document applies to all memberships. Other privileges and limitations of YMCA membership may be established, but cannot conflict with policies herein.
